Schaeffer acknowledges the cultural mandate, at least in principle. In his studies on Genesis, after describing the creation of man as God’s image bearer, he devotes several paragraphs to man’s call to have dominion over the creation. He mentions Adam’s role of naming the animals, as well as dressing and keeping the garden. He mentions the divine ordinance of marriage, though not the ordinance of labor.
